Rose Stripes, Untitled Rose in Progress
Rose Stripes, untitled watercolor in progress.
It seems so mysterious when we're on the outside looking in at a work of art we admire. We may ponder on how that painting, sculpture, or whatever it is that captured our attention was created. Our sense of wonder will bring us answers as it kindles our curiosity.
The big question for aspiring artists, and sometimes admirers, is usually around how to create something similar. No matter what it is, it always starts with steps, usually baby steps in the beginning. And it's not all about technique, but rather a state of being, a way of seeing, and a way of life.
Can it be enough to enjoy the process of creation?
It seems an integral part of the story to me. So, maybe it is.
